2. Drain the soaked kala chana and cook it in a pressure cooker with 2 cups of water for about 10-15 minutes or until it becomes soft.

3. Heat the oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds. Once they start to crackle, add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

4. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and sauté for another minute.

5. Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and garam masala. Stir well and cook for a minute.

6. Add the cooked kala chana to the pan and mix well.

7. Add salt to taste and cook for another 5 minutes.

8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
